What would you do and a giveaway!

The question isn't WHAT to do, but what to do FIRST??? I have a weekend all to myself and I am always overwhelmed with what I should start with.

I have stuff that I should do - laundry, dishes, vacuum, etc.

I have stuff that I want to do - finish felting projects, read my book, go for a walk.
I am really bad at finishing projects. I have 5 pillows in varying stages :)

I have stuff that I don't want to do, but need to - fix the electric fence in the ram pasture, mow the lawn, clean the garage.

and stuff that I seldom do, but would be fun - lay on the couch and watch a movie, eat a carton of ice cream (that was my mom's idea) ;)

I suppose I will end up doing a little bit of everything, except for eating the carton of ice cream!

All you have to do to enter the giveaway is tell me what you would do with a weekend all to yourself?

The prize -

A tote bag filled with a goody of your choice :)

Option 1 - handspun yarn
Option 2 - fiber for spinning

Option 3 - felting kit
Option 4 - none of the above ;) for the non-wool people - I will come up with something special
Just leave a comment with what you would do and what option you want! I will announce the winner on Tuesday, August 4th. Have a great weekend!

  1. Do I get an extra point or two for being the first to comment? ;)

Wow, a whole weekend to myself... I'd be wondering what to do but most likely I would:

Go for a long trail ride w/ some friends in the late evening (I wouldn't have to worry about dinner!)

I would take a photography walk up a trail head somewhere.

I'd stay up late and watch a movie or two (a carton of ice cream sounds good!)

I'd try and update my websites and play on photoshop.

I'd do some more needle felting!

  2. The not having to worry about dinner is my favorite :)

Sounds like a wonderful time and sure you can have an extra point for being the first.

    What option do you choose?

  3. I think I'd choose the yarn... it's getting about that time, to crochet for winter. :) Enjoy your weekend!

  4. You sound just like me when I have a rare free weekend; us moms just can't fit everything in! Remember, you can ALWAYS clean and do laundry. Sounds like you BETTER fix the electric fence or you'll have escapees like we did. After that, do what you don't get to indulge (or as much as you would LIKE to) when the fam isn't home - that's what I would do!

  5. Wow, a weekend all alone. It has been years and years since I've had one. I would start by sleeping in as long as I like and not get dressed until noon. I would then go to my favorite nursery and get a plant or two that doesn't fit into the budget. Then go and get a really nice seafood dinner then a massage(never had one). After I got home I'd miss my family something fierce and want them home with me. :-) I choose the yarn!

  6. Wow,a weekend all to myself. It has been many years since I've had one. I would start by sleeping in as long as I like and not get dressed until noon. Then I would head to my favorite nursery and buy those plants that never fit into the budget. I would get a massage and go out to a relaxed great seafood dinner w/dessert. Then when I got home I would miss my family something fierce and be happy to see them again :-} I would love the yarn...

  7. Since you haven't posted a winner yet, I'm going to take a chance. I'd read and read and read. Being able to finish a book before I've forgotten the beginning would be wonderful! I'd choose the fiber if I won with this last minute entry.

  8. Hope I'm not too late!

A weekend all to myself, I'd first take a shower, with NO interruptions, until the hot water runs out.

Then I'd go to the middle of a large wooded park with the dogs, and just sit down, and enjoy the quiet, bring a spindle, cameras, and hope to see some cool wildlife.

I'd go home, and make myself brussell sprouts, and butter fried mushrooms... two things my family even hates the smell of cooking.

Then, I'd nap. With no interruptions. Yea, I'm boring ;)
